Ages 3–5 years
Levels which develop your child’s swimming and water safety skills, building motor skills, self-esteem and confidence. Block courses are available in the school holidays.
Little Dippers
For unconfident beginners, or a child participating in structured lessons for the first time. No assessment is required to enter this class.
In this class your child will learn to:
safely move through and explore the pool environment
go underwater while holding their breath and blowing bubbles
float with assistance on their back and front
pick up an object off the bottom of the pool
practise a water safety skill: get back on their feet easily from a front float and a back float.

Big Dippers
An assessment is required to enter this class. We will check that your child can safely move in the pool environment; and confidently go underwater and pick an object off the bottom of the pool.
In this class your child will learn to:
float on their front and back independently for at least 5 seconds, and confidently get back on their feet
glide independently on their front in streamline position
glide on their back independently with their arms by their sides
kick on their front and back independently for at least 4 meters
practise a water safety skill: roll from their front to their back, and back again.

An assessment is required to enter this class. We will check that your child can float on their front and back independently for 5 seconds and get back on their feet; and glide and kick independently on both their front and back.
In this class your child will learn to:
kick on their back independently for at least 6 meters
glide from their front to their side
kick on their front with freestyle arms independently for at least 6 metres
kick on their side with assistance
practise a water safety skill: roll from their front to their back while kicking.

Super Stars
An assessment is required to enter this class. We will check that your child can kick on their back independently for 6 metres; glide from their front to their side; kick on their front with freestyle arms for 6 metres; and kick on their side with assistance.
In this class your child will learn to:
kick on both sides independently for at least 6 metres
swim freestyle arms with bilateral breathing using a board for at least 6 metres
kick on their back with continuous arms for at least 6 metres
do a basic breaststroke kick
practise a water safety skill: kick and stroke on their front, with a roll to breathe, for at least 8 metres.
