Ages 5 years and up
Caters for all levels - from nervous beginners to children who can swim lengths. Develops and extends your child’s swimming and water safety skills. Block courses are available in the school holidays.
Jellyfish
This course is designed for children who are five years old, unconfident about putting their head under the water, and still learning to float independently. No assessment is required to enter this class.
In this class your child will learn to:
float on their front and back independently for at least 5 seconds, and get back on their feet
pick up an object off the bottom of the pool
push and glide on their front and back independently for 6 metres
glide while rolling from their front to their side
practise a water safety skill: regain their feet easily from a front and a back float.

Kingfish
An assessment is required to enter this class. We will check that your child can float independently for five seconds on their front and back, regaining their feet; go underwater and pick up an object off the bottom of the pool; and glide on their front and back independently for 6 metres.
In this class your child will learn to:
kick on their back independently for at least 8 metres
kick while practising freestyle arms independently for at least 8 metres
push and glide independently on both sides
kick on both sides with a board
practise a water safety skill: do a u-turn independently from the side of the pool and back.

Barracudas
An assessment is required to enter this class. We will check that your child can kick on their back for 8 metres; kick with freestyle arms independently for 8 metres; glide independently on both sides; and kick on both sides with a board.
In this class your child will learn to:
kick on both sides and roll their body to breathe independently for 8 metres
swim at least 8 metres freestyle arms with bilateral breathing
swim at least 10 metres backstroke with continuous arms
do a basic breaststroke kick
practise a water safety skill: kick and stroke on their front and roll to breathe for at least 8 metres.

Snappers
An assessment is required to enter this class. We will check that your child can kick independently on both sides and roll their body to breathe for 8 metres; swim 8 metres freestyle with bilateral breathing; swim 10 metres backstroke; and demonstrate basic breaststroke kick.
In this class your child will learn:
2 x 12 metres freestyle with bilateral breathing
2 x 12 metres backstroke with rotation
12 metres breaststroke kick
butterfly kick
a water safety skill: do 3 types of scull.

An assessment is required to enter this class. We will check that your child can swim 2 x 12 metres freestyle with bilateral breathing; swim 2 x 12 metres backstroke with rotation; 12 metres breaststroke kick; and demonstrate butterfly kick.
In this class your child will learn:
3 x 12 metres freestyle with bilateral breathing
3 x 12 metres backstroke with rotation
2 x 12 metres breaststroke kick on their front and back
breaststroke arms with breaststroke kick
butterfly kick
a water safety skill: move through the water non-stop with clothes on for at least 20 metres.

Marlins
An assessment is required to enter this class. We will check that your child can swim 3 x 12 metres freestyle with bilateral breathing; 3 x 12 metres backstroke with rotation; 2 x 12 metres breaststroke kick on their front and back; and breaststroke arms with breaststroke kick.
In this class your child will learn:
4 x 12 metres smooth continuous freestyle
4 x 12 metres smooth continuous backstroke
12 metres breaststroke using breath, kick, glide
6 metres butterfly arms and body undulation with no breathing
a water safety skill: move through the water non stop for at least 50 metres.

An assessment is required to enter this class. We will check that your child can swim 4 x 12 metres freestyle; 4 x 12 metres backstroke; 12 metres breaststroke; and 6 metres basic butterfly with no breathing.

25 metres breaststroke
15 metres butterfly

a water safety skill: tread water for 2 minutes with sculling.

Titanium Squad
An assessment is required to enter this class. We will check that your child can swim at least 400 metres freestyle; 400 metres backstroke; 300 metres breaststroke; and 100 meters butterfly.
Designed for swimmers who have reached a level where they no longer require lessons, and want to increase their endurance and stamina while maintaining stroke efficiency. A great way to keep fit for water polo, surf lifesaving and other sports.
